MANILA, Philippines – Members of the Korean pop group Super Junior were subjected to routine inspection by airport Customs personnel upon their arrival in the Philippines on Tuesday.

The Korean group composed of nine people arrived in the Philippines on board Korean Air 621 from Inchon, Korea.
The group initially submitted themselves to immigration profiling and were about to exit the Customs zone at the arrival area when Tess Roque, airport Customs collector for passenger services, noticed that the group didn't have proper coordination with her office.
In an interview with ABS-CBN News, Roque said she has instructed the Customs examiner to subject all the members of the entourage to routine inspection.
Roque said no proper coordination was made by the Airport Public Affairs Office nor from Bench, the local clothing line which invited the Korean pop group.
A certain Jose Marie Liamzon, who introduced himself as a liason from Bench, apologized to Roque for the miscommunication and non-coordination with the proper government agency.
Roque accepted the apology but still insisted that all the passengers should pass through the routine customs inspection as required to all incoming passengers.
Roque explained that it is a compulsary requirement for all incoming passengers to submit themselves to routine customs inspection together with the accomplished customs declaration form to help them determine if a passenger has anything to declare or is carrying any prohibited item under the tariff and customs law.
Liamzon also apologized to airport reporters when their security guard shoved a journalist who was covering the event.
Christopher Jude Garcia, public relations assistant of the Airport Media Affairs, confirmed that there was indeed a restriction in covering the arrival of the popular Korean group.
Airport media, however, was not informed of such restriction in covering public figure in public places.
