According to Gaon Charts, Super Junior and Psy reigned supreme for the month of Augsut.
Gaon Chart updated its monthly sales and download charts for the month of August.
According to its figures, Super Junior ranked first for the second month in a row this time with Super Junior’s repackaged sixth album, Spy which sold 107,656 copies.
With the sixth album, Sexy, Free & Single already having surpassed the 335,744K mark in sales, thepossibility of Super Junior surpassing 500k in album sales (combining official and repackaged album sales) for a second year in a row is looking increasingly likely. And will be the First ever in Music History of Kpop to have a 2 consecutive years of selling 500k mark sales in physical album.
Following just behind Super Junior in second place was B2ST’s Midnight Sun which sold 63,941 copies for a total of 131,776 copies sold so far.
JYJ’s Kim Junsu was third with 55,000 copies of Uncommitted , Kara’s Pandora in fourth with 45,933 copies sold, Teen Top’s Do You Want to Date Me? in fifth with 40,234 copies and Psy’s Psy 6 Part 1. in sixth with 19,292 copies.
Psy also came in first for Gaon Chart’s monthly download chart for the month of August with Gangnam Style being downloaded 1,285,000 times to best BoA’s Only One which was downloaded 934,059 times in August.
Does ELF and Super Junior can make again another record breaking album sales?
